Using Fast.io
Our mission is to provide a reliable and efficient cloud storage service for businesses. To ensure optimal performance and equitable use of our resources, we have established this Fair Use Policy ("Policy") to prevent misuse and ensure all users have a positive experience.
1. Acceptable Use
You agree to use our Services primarily for legitimate business purposes, such as storing, sharing, and collaborating on business-related files and data. Personal use is acceptable as long as it is reasonable, incidental, and does not interfere with our ability to serve our primary business users.
Which means:
Use our Services mainly for business activities. Occasional personal use is okay if it doesn't impact our primary focus.
2. Unacceptable Use
You may not use our Services for:
- Content Delivery Network (CDN) Purposes: Using our platform primarily as a CDN to serve web content, media files, or other data to a large number of end-users or devices is prohibited.
- Excessive Micro-File Storage: Storing an unusually high number of small files (micro-files) that result in disproportionate system load. We enforce a minimum usage threshold of 1,000 objects per GB of storage. If you exceed this ratio—for example, storing 50,000 files totaling only 25GB—you will be billed for the equivalent minimum storage, in this case, 50GB.
- Automated Excessive API Usage: Engaging in activities that generate excessive API calls or using automated systems to interact with our Services in a way that overburdens our infrastructure. API Rate limits are in place to prevent abuse.
- Non-Business Activities: Using our Services for purposes not aligned with legitimate business activities. Use cases must also meet our Terms of Service.
- Platform Abuse: Any activity that disrupts, interferes with, or otherwise adversely affects the performance or functionality of our Services.
- Resale or Unauthorized Commercial Exploitation: Reselling our Services or using them for unauthorized commercial gains without our express written consent.
- Account Sharing: Sharing your account with others or allowing unauthorized access to your account.
- Unauthorized Agent or Bot Activity: Operating automated systems, AI agents, bots, or scripts that create fraudulent accounts, bypass authentication, circumvent rate limits, scrape data beyond authorized use, or engage in any form of automated abuse of the platform.
- MCP Server or API Abuse: Using programmatic access methods including MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, APIs, or SDKs in ways that overwhelm infrastructure, exploit vulnerabilities, or facilitate unauthorized access to other users' data or accounts.
Which means:
Don't use our Services as a CDN, overload our system with tiny files, or engage in activities that could harm our Services or other users. Stick to business-related uses.
3. Enforcement
We reserve the right to monitor usage patterns to detect violations of this Policy. If we determine that your use of the Services violates this Policy, we may, at our sole discretion:
- Issue a Warning: Notify you of the violation and request corrective action.
- Impose Restrictions: Limit your access to certain features or functionalities.
- Suspend or Terminate Services: Temporarily or permanently suspend your account for severe or repeated violations.
For standard violations, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except where prohibited by law.
IMMEDIATE ACTION FOR AUTOMATED ABUSE: Notwithstanding the above, Fast reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate, without prior notice, any account or access associated with automated abuse, including but not limited to: suspicious agent or bot activity, abnormal API usage patterns, programmatic attacks, unauthorized MCP server connections, credential stuffing, account farming, or any automated activity that Fast determines, in its sole discretion, poses an immediate threat to the platform, infrastructure, other users, or the integrity of the Services. Accounts terminated for automated abuse are not eligible for refunds or appeals.
Which means:
For normal misuse, we'll try to warn you first. But if we detect automated abuse, bots behaving badly, or suspicious agent activity, we can shut it down immediately without warning to protect the platform.
4. Modifications to the Policy
We may update this Fair Use Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated to you via email or through a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before they become effective. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
Which means:
We might update this policy, and we'll let you know if we do. Continuing to use our Services means you accept any changes.
Please contact us at help@fast.io if you have questions.
